If you hire a logo designer because they can do the job and not because you love their work it will be a lose-lose situation. When the proofs start coming out it will be hard to find common ground if you're asking your designer for something that's out of their element.
You will not get the results you want. I would 💯% rather have someone say no to me because I am not a good fit instead of having a bad experience trying to create something for a client that is out of my skill set. So to save heartbreak all around make sure you do your research, your wallet and your logo designer will thank you.
